Broker Requirements

Sales Skills

  • Proven Track Record in B2B Sales: Experience in business-to-business sales, with a record of meeting or exceeding targets in high-value transactions.
  • Lead Qualification: Ability to effectively qualify leads, focusing on high-potential commercial clients.
  • Consultative Selling Approach: Skill in guiding clients through a complex buying process, with a strong focus on understanding the client’s business goals.
  • Closing Skills: Strong negotiation and closing capabilities, particularly in long sales cycles typical of commercial solar projects.

Project Management and Coordination

  • Client Relationship Management: Skill in nurturing client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, from initial contact to post-installation follow-up.
  • Coordination with Engineering and Installation Teams: Familiarity with the project development process to align sales promises with realistic installation timelines.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to handle objections and troubleshooting, especially as issues arise during the permitting and installation process

Ethics and Transparency

  • Integrity in Sales Practices: Upholding ethical sales practices, especially with your focus on collaboration over aggressive selling.
  • Transparency in Communication: Ensuring clients receive a clear, honest understanding of project timelines, costs, and potential returns.

CRM and Digital Proficiency

  • Experience with CRM Software: Proficient in using CRM platforms to track leads, manage sales pipelines, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Digital Marketing Savvy: Ability to leverage digital marketing channels (LinkedIn, email marketing) for lead generation and client engagement.

Additional Requirements

Industry Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven Solar Sales Background: Demonstrable experience in solar PV sales or HVAC or commercial Property Management sector.
  • Knowledge of Solar Technology and Trends: Familiarity with the latest in PV technology, inverters, energy storage, and solar financing trends.
  • Federal, State, City Incentives & NYSERDA Rebate Programs Understanding of Federal, State City and NYSERDA rebates and incentives, as Bliss Solar LLC is an approved NYSERDA contractor.

Partnership Development

  • Network within the Industry: Connections with commercial property managers, building owners, architects, and consultants can be advantageous.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to establish and nurture partnerships, aligning with your focus on building partnerships rather than direct selling.

 Financial Acumen

  • Financial Analysis Skills: Ability to discuss ROI, savings analysis, and financing options with clients to clearly demonstrate the financial benefits of solar adoption

Adaptability and Willingness to Learn

  • Eagerness for Continuous Learning: Willing to stay updated on new products, incentives, and technologies as the solar industry evolves.
  • Flexible with Changing Market Dynamics: Ability to adapt strategies based on regulatory shifts or new incentive programs.

Professionalism and Communication

  • Strong Presentation Skills: Capable of presenting complex information in a clear, compelling manner.
